PIRATES: The Penzance Musical

Kilmacud Musical Society is proud to present the Irish Premiere of ‘PIRATES! The Penzance Musical’.

Running from 11 – 17 April 2027 in dlr Mill Theatre Dundrum, Pirates! The Penzance Musical is the jazzy reimagining of the Gilbert & Sullivan classic The Pirates of Penzance. With an updated book by Rupert Holmes (Curtains), the setting has moved to New Orleans, where the influence of jazz, blues and calypso music are clear throughout the new orchestrations.

The show opened on Broadway in 2025 to critical acclaim and starred Jinkx Monsoon and David Hyde Pierce.

This wild, jazzy and joyous romp will delight Gilbert & Sullivan fans and newcomers alike.

In 2027, KMS celebrates our 45th Anniversary. We actually staged the original Pirates of Penzance in 1988.

Pirates! The Penzance Musical brilliantly blends old and new. When we hit the stage in April 2027, we’re excited to honour our own past while looking to the future.
